Rides: Cycle Through the Park - Central Park

10:00 p.m. Cost: Free  

This event repeats on the 1st Friday of every month between 7/2/2010 and 3/4/2011.

Avoid the midday crowds by joining Time’s Up for its Moonlight Rides in Central Park. “When the park’s less crowded, it helps people appreciate the natural surroundings,” says director Bill DiPaola. Take a leisurely spin past Central Park’s waterside spots, including the Bethesda Fountain and the Harlem Meer. Takes place the first Friday of every month. Event also taking place in Prospect Park on second Saturday of every month.

 
BeFitNYC Free Fitness Mondays

6:30 a.m.–9:30 p.m. Cost : Free

Every first Monday of the month, the City’s recreation centers will open their doors for a day of free fitness programs and activities. Take advantage of aerobic classes, yoga, weight-training, cardio machines, and more. Some classes are available for a small fee. Find out more about your local recreation center by checking out BeFitNYC, Parks’ online fitness search engine. Stop in for a FREE day of fitness at one of New York City’s 30 Parks recreation centers!

This African dance class for adults is offered every Saturday morning and includes the accompaniment of a live drummer. The class is offered by Ifetayo Cultural Arts Academy and St. Mark's Church "in the spirit of renewal, rebirth and wellness." Participants are asked to rsvp: arts@ifetayo.org.
